This policy explains how Last Man Standing Events collects, uses, shares and protects the personal information you give us when you RSVP to an event through one of our forms, including the official launch of Mphahlele & Motlanthe Attorneys Inc. We process your information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Last Man Standing Events is an event management company that runs invitations, RSVPs and guest management on behalf of our clients. For the purposes of this RSVP form, we are responsible for your personal information and work together with the event host, Mphahlele & Motlanthe Attorneys Inc., to manage the event.
When you complete the RSVP form, we collect:
When you visit the form, our website and the services it uses may also collect limited technical information such as your IP address, browser type and device information, through essential cookies and similar technologies. The page includes an embedded Google Map and Google Fonts, which may cause Google to receive your IP address and browser details.
We only ask for dietary requirements so that suitable food can be provided. You do not have to give any reason for your choice.
We use your personal information only to:
We rely on your consent, given when you tick the consent box, and on our legitimate interest in running the event properly. We will not use your information for marketing or send you unrelated communications unless you have separately agreed to this.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We only share it where needed to run the event, with:
We may also disclose information where the law requires us to.
Some of our service providers, such as website hosting, email and mapping services, may store or process information on servers outside South Africa. Where this happens, we make sure the provider is subject to laws, binding agreements or policies that give your information a level of protection similar to POPIA.
We keep your RSVP information only for as long as we need it to run the event and complete any follow-up. We delete or anonymise it within [90] days after the event, unless we are required by law to keep it longer.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and limiting access to people who need it for the event. If we become aware of a security compromise affecting your information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
Under POPIA you have the right to:
Withdrawing your consent will not affect processing that has already taken place, but it may mean we can no longer manage your attendance at the event. To use any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
Our forms use only the cookies needed for the website to work securely and for the form to be submitted. Embedded third-party services, such as Google Maps, may set their own cookies, which are governed by their own privacy policies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some features of the page may then not work.
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on the RSVP page, with the date it was last updated.
For questions about this policy, or to exercise any of your rights, please contact Last Man Standing Events through our contact page. Our full company details are available at lastmanstanding.events, and our general website privacy policy also applies.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you can contact the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
